Renz Hernandez
Renz Hernandez is one of six children who faced the loss of his father at the age of five. His mother, now an organic farmer and organic tea processor at GreenEarth Heritage Foundation, has been the family’s breadwinner. Despite personal hardships, Renz attributes his resilience and achievements to the grace of the Almighty. In 2013, he enrolled at the University of the East-Manila, facilitated by GreenEarth’s holistic mission, which actively seeks scholarship opportunities for farmers’ children.
Through the support of GreenEarth, Renz secured a full tuition scholarship from Megaworld Foundation after passing their exam, alongside sponsorships from private donors covering his living expenses and other necessities. In 2019, Renz passed the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) board exam on his first attempt, which had a passing rate of 16.46% (1,699 out of 10,319 candidates). He now serves on the audit team of a foreign multinational, having previously worked for the Philippines’ top auditing firm. His career has afforded him travel opportunities to four countries: Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, and the United States.
GreenEarth Heritage Foundation’s impact on Renz extends beyond academics, providing comprehensive support in school selection, course decisions, securing donor support, and spiritual guidance. This holistic approach has fostered a strong familial bond and collective resilience within the organization.
Additionally, GreenEarth has instilled in Renz a profound appreciation for environmental stewardship, emphasizing the critical role of every seed and tree in sustaining oxygen levels, soil health, and preventing natural disasters. Renz’s family, along with others at GreenEarth, actively participates in environmental restoration efforts, planting and nurturing trees as part of their sustainable livelihood.
