Gerald Lazaro
Gerald is the son of Antonio Lazaro, a truck driver and Teresita, a homemaker. He is the second of five children. He heard about GreenEarth Heritage Foundation in December of 2011 from his schoolmate, a GreenEarth sponsored child, Romnick Blanco. Because Rom loved coming to GreenEarth, he decided to check it out too.
In March of 2012, Gerald officially became a sponsored child of the foundation. What this means is— the foundation was able to connect him to a donor who provided him with 500 pesos a month stipend, to help pay for his school supplies and other miscellaneous expenses. In the Philippines, although public school is free, project costs and school supplies are not. Five hundred pesos a month, thought it may seem small, makes a difference for a family of 5 children.”
I love going to GreenEarth because of their English and computer literacy programs. At the Learning Center, we are encouraged to READ, READ, READ. I also love the fact that they are teaching us to preserve and restore the environment. We are planting lots of trees.”
Gerald now serves as a Junior Manager at a Premier Realty Company in the Philippines, where his dedication and expertise have quickly established him as a key player in the industry. Through his hard work, wise investing, and sound financial management, he achieved the remarkable feat of building a concrete house for his family in less than two years after graduating from college.
Beyond his professional success, Gerald continues to generously support his family in various ways. He stands out as the first post-college scholar of GreenEarth Heritage Foundation to be able to purchase a car after just over four years of working. This milestone is a testament to his financial acumen and commitment to achieving his goals.
Gerald’s exceptional performance at his job has not gone unnoticed. He has been recognized with multiple prestigious awards from his employer, including Employee of the Year, Team Player of the Year, and Best in Customer Service. These accolades reflect his dedication, teamwork, and outstanding customer relations skills.
In addition to his professional achievements, Gerald is an avid traveler. He has explored over 30 provinces in the Philippines, gaining a deep appreciation for the country’s diverse culture and landscapes. His adventures have also taken him beyond national borders to destinations such as Hong Kong, Indonesia,
Macau, Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore, broadening his horizons and enriching his global perspective.
