Amelia Enriquez
Amelia is the wife of a farmer and seasonal construction worker.
She only reached 6th grade.
She has 7 children and 7 grandchildren with 4 children still living with her.
Before being trained as a moringa processor at GreenEarth, most of her
time is just spent at home and on occasion, she sells afternoon snacks
(“merienda”) to her neighbors and passersby.
She is grateful for the extra income at GreenEarth which she uses for the
educational needs of her children. No other multi-commodity processing
facility exists at the foothills of the Sierra Madre mountains where she lives.
She is praying that the livelihood program at GreenEarth will continue
to expand so that the days she can work can continue to increase and
many more women will benefit.
